There, I began studying Italian and drawing short comics to practice new words and grammar. Drawing these comics quickly became a way for me to reflect on my experiences as a foreigner in Italy. This resulted in my very first self-published comic book entitled Pezzettini, which depicts little pieces of my life in Italy. The book is available for sale on the webshop of Ciao Tutti.&nbsp; The magazine The Florentine featured one of my comics in March 2020. The story I illustrated revolves around the new Dutch sexual offence law, designed to better protect victims of sexually transgressive behavior. At its core lies the concept of consent, emphasizing mutual respect and understanding. In my illustrations, I depict consensual dances—an embodiment of mutual agreement and respect. The animation accompanies a poem composed by writer Karel Eykman. It talks about the joy of taking a bath and being naked. &nbsp;While making it, I found inspiration by diving into my own childhood memories about bathing. I also did a lot of sketching at the seaside, where I could observe how children play in the water. I turned my best ideas into the storyboard seen below.&nbsp; I made the animation using a combination of papercutting and digital drawing techniques. <img width="294" height="183" width_o="294" Singer-songwriter Eliza Gilkyson commissioned me to make an animation for her song ‘Sunflowers’, which alludes to Ukraine and the ongoing struggle. The animation above explains how various categories of the Rijksmuseum’s visitors differ with regards to their approach to art and their needs while visiting an exhibition. The animation is used in an e-learning on museum education that the Rijksmuseum developed in collaboration with the University of Glasgow. The other two animations that I have made for this project explain how texts in the museum are written and by whom. For example, they gave tips on how to make children eat vegetables, or they explain what constitutes a healthy breakfast. Making these illustrations, I combined line-drawings with shapes and images that I had cut out of food and lifestyle magazines.
